BREAKING: Four people shot at Peachtree Center in Downtown Atlanta

Atlanta Police have confirmed four people were shot today at Peachtree Center in Downtown. One of those shot is believed to be the suspect, according to police.

The four people shot were all alert, conscious and breathing, according to law enforcement. People are asked to avoid the area.

APD said in a series of posts on X that “the scene is still open and active as officers are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Continue to monitor social for more updates.”

Mayor Andre Dickens said in a separate post on X that four people had been shot at the food court and the building was on lockdown. He followed up with another post also saying one of the four victims is the alleged shooter.

Members of Atlanta Tech Village in Downtown, located at 170 Mitchell St. SW, received an email about 3 p.m. advising they shelter in place.

“We have been notified of a possible assailant and several injured on Peachtree Street. Please remain in place and remain calm,” the email said. “We will send updates as soon as possible but for your safety and the safety of others we are asking that you stay where you are. Police have not said whether the suspect is in custody but it is believed that the suspect may be one of the injured parties.”
