Real Madrid Defines Galactico Transfer Target For 2025, Reports MARCA

Real Madrid has defined its top transfer target for 2025 in a star who would be that year’s ‘Galactico’ according to MARCA, which cited anonymous sources.

Jude Bellingham took such billing in 2023, with Madrid agreeing to pay its Champions League final foes on June 1, Borussia Dortmund, a €103 million fee for the Englishman which could rise by around 30% making him the club’s most expensive player until now.

In 2024, president Florentino Perez’s top acquisition looks set to be Kylian Mbappe.

Before the weekend, the Frenchman finally announced that he will leave Paris Saint-Germain when his contract expires on June 30, though he didn’t name his next destination.

Barring any major surprises, though, that is widely expected to be the Bernabeu as the Ballon d’Or hopeful joins Carlo Ancelotti’s potentially treble-winning squad ahead of next season.

An astute planner who always thinks about the long game, however, Perez is reportedly already thinking about who his marquee signing will be in 2025.

In the summer of that year, the scorer of a fantastic goal in this week’s UCL semifinal second leg between Madrid and Bayern Munich, before Joselu struck a late double, should – like Mbappe – allow his contract to run down to join the La Liga giants.

We are of course talking about Alphonso Davies, who will provide positional rivalry to Ferland Mendy and is widely regarded as one of the best left backs in the world alongside the Frenchman.

Yet Perez also plans to attack elsewhere in the Bundesliga, by signing one of the main stars of an impressive, thus far unbeaten campaign for Bayer Leverkusen which helped break Davies and his team’s run of 11 consecutive German top flight titles.

Unlike Mbappe and Davies, Florian Wirtz won’t land in the Spanish capital cheap as confirmed by Bayer’s chief executive to Radio MARCA.

“No one is unsellable, but Wirtz will not leave for less than €150 million,” Fernando Carro said last month.

Maybe Perez could bring that price down, but a player who has scored 18 goals and provided 19 assists this term certainly won’t come cheap.
